Oh Brewdog, how I love thee
Brewdog´s done it again. In an awesome display of humour and plain craziness, they’ve set the world record for the world’s strongest beer. Again. First came Tactical Nuclear Penguin. Then the Germans responded with Schorschbock and won, but only temporarily, for the mighty scots then sank the German flagship with their barley torpedo named Sink the Bismarck. And before the Germans even had the time to blitzkrieg back at them, they now (presumably) ended the war by creating the final boss of beers. This time, it’s called THE END OF HISTORY and it’s served from the mouth of a dead squirrel. Yes, litteraly. The End of History Bad news is you won’t afford it. … Read entire article »

Brother Thelonius
Having a beer named after yourself is quite a feat, and it’s even more awesome if you happen to be a legendary jazz-blues musician such as Thelonius Monk. The beer, as the headline suggests, is called Brother Thelonius, which is not at all that unwitty, both with regard to black slang and to the fact that this is a belgian-style abbey ale. Now, I’ve heard a lot of terrific things about this beer and so I’ve … Read entire article »

Facade. HOW HAVE I MISSED THIS?
So apparently, two guys decided half a decade ago that it would be a great idea to make a game. Only it would not be a game – it would be an interactive story *shrug*, where you’re supposed to fix a broken marriage. Anyone who has ever played a videogame for more than 5 seconds knows that anything that advertises itself as an interactive story is always absolutely horrible. This time, however, the result is absolutely brilliant. It’s sort of a simulator of pure awkwardness. It’s like Tommy Wiseau decided to make a game out of The Room. It is, as a dear friend of mine pointed out, like a first-person version of The Sims, only you actually get to understand what they’re saying. The acting is hilariously awful, and … Read entire article »

Read entire article »
The new pubround – Kilchoman and Bruichladdich
I just got home from what has been the most exciting pubrounds this summer. To start with, I got to visit the newly opened and absolutely outstanding pub “The Queen’s Head”, which I’ve been longing to visit long before it opened. It has a library(!), an absolutely superb Whisky collection of around 150 malts, 40+ beers on tap along with many very nice beers on bottle – all served in a cozy environment with comfy … Read entire article »
